As I sit here and read these posting and comments tears fall from my eyes and reality begin to set in... I will never be able to see you again. You were a very sweet personwho was all about laughs and good times.I cant believe you are gone. I just saw you before Chritsmas. Only if I would have known that your time was limited but at least I got a chance to get a hug from you and let you know that I loved you!

I am so saddened to hear about the passing of Shawn. He was a truly wonderful man. My prayers go out to his family and loved ones-- I hope that each of you can take comfort in knowing that your Shawn was a kind fun-loving determined spiritual and loyal gentleman who had a smile that lit up a room! I will always treasure my friendship with Shawn. God's peace my friend. Close
When friends and loved ones pass away it reminds us that our lives are but a vapor on this earth. Life is fragile and every day every moment is a gift and privilege. Shawn understood that and I appreciated his gentle spirit and humble attitude for the couple years he was in Tampa. Gone to soon - for sure - but safe in the arms of our Heavenly Father!

Shawn Lee was a good person...never had too much negative to say but always smiling and full of joy. He taught me a lot as a rookie and that knowledge he imparted was duly noted and useful. He was a fierce competitor and I found out quickly why he had the success he did. This is very sad but I rejoice because I know he is heaven with God and all the rest of our fallen teammates. We will all meet again...Rest IN Peace Brother!

My prayers and condolences go out to the Smith family in this difficult time. To Shawn thanks for the memories. You played with heart and soul every down and were a Huge part of the best run stopping defense in Chargers History. Thank you for helping lead San Diego to it's only Super Bowl and even though you guys didn't win it you brought excitement to San Diego that hasn't quite been duplicated since 1994 will always be remembered and #98 will always live in the hearts of Charger fans. R.I.P. Shawn and Mei God bring comfort to your family. Close

I've been a Charger Fan since the 60's. I have had the great pleasure of meeting players through the years.
Shawn I will always remember for his smile and love of the game. I still have a 'two tons of fun" t-shirt that I quit wearing so it would last. He was always ready for fans with a smile and happy to sign autograghs. Off the field he was like a big teddy bear and on a fiece competitor.
He will be remembered in San Diego for his play and generosity off the football field.

As a lifelong Chargers fan I had the privelage of watching all of Shawn's Charger games and even the greater fortune to see him play live in San Diego. He was exactly what you wanted in an athlete he had skill and knew how to use it and as a man his contributions to charity will never be forgotten nor will he. My prayers go out today for his family and friends. Mei God comfort you in this very difficult time. Close

You took me into your home when i was a fresh drafted rookie. You taught me so much and we become friends and teammates once you became a Dolphin. Even when you left and we had to battle on the field of play in those tough trenches of the NFL never lost that friendship... You will be missed.... Love Your friend Keith Sims Close
A Great Man Full of Warmth / Ron Verre (Fan)
Let me first offer my condolences to his family and loved ones. I met Shawn one evening at Keils Grocery store while we we're both shopping. It was well after 10:00 PM and when I saw him I asked if he played for the Chargers. He told me yes and I asked Shawn Lee? He replied very friendly that that was who he was. We spoke for a few minutes and went on our ways. In this brief encounter I truly felt that this one one of the friendliest men I had ever met. You could feel the warmth and sincerity the he exuded. He will be missed as this World needs more men like Shawn Lee.
First of all my condolences to the Lee family! Earth has just lost a great person but heaven has one beautiful Angel!! RIP Shawn!! Although I have seen you in a long time I was always thinking about you! Know you and your family will always be in my prayers!!!

Shawn was a gentle giant. I remember coming into the locker room and he would be kidding around some with Eric Bienemy who was half his weight and size. Close
